Living Spirituality: Rythms for Today

Great post on Living Spirituality regarding three succinct yet important religious practices...

  1. We believe that the arts and cultural participation and analysis are vital.
  2. We believe in church as community, as a Scripture reading and living community.
  3. We believe in hospitality and a compassionate welcoming of strangers.
Often the body of Christ underestimates the importance of each of these three vital components for a healthy post-modern spiritual walk. By the way if you haven't added Living Spirituality to your blog reader you should.

So ... what are you or your church/community doing to involve the above?

Monday Night Football and The Guys

I love Monday Nights. I always have loved them. First, I love football and on Monday Night (in the Fall and Winter) there's a football game! It's more of a tradition for me than anything else. This season my love of MNF has taken a dramatic jump from mere excitement to "off the hook" as I get to share four hours or so with guys watching football. It's great. It's simple. It's real.

Myself and about 7-10 guys get together each week to talk about following God, hear what's going on in our lives, pray for one another, and then watch some football!

What could be better? I guess it depends on the person.

In January... the 15th of January to be exact we will be kicking off several new Community Groups much like my Monday Night Football group. If you've been missing out on your healthy dose of community that will be the time to get plugged in with a small community of some 8-12 guys or gals (nothing against couples).

Januray 15th... mark that date.

Losing My Religion part 3

Tomorrow Night (December 4th) we will be closing out the series LMR as we discuss Religion and the Mission of God. Far too often we busy ourselves with doing religious things, being in religious relationships, and in the end we miss the heart of God. Jesus said in Luke 19 that his mission was to "seek and save the lost", however many of us have moved far away from that mission as we become consumed with other dos and don'ts.

Join us as we explore this topic, connect with one another, and just hang out.
